THE BOOK
"When I was a child, I had a goat: Yuki.
It would never go anywhere without me. It would come to school with me and come back from school with me. It was a wonderfully beautiful creature with black and white fur. This is the story of us." Yüksel Aksu
This story that came to mind when director Yüksel Aksu was filming the documentary Sarıkeçililer was adorned with Oğuz Demir's drawings. İsmail and Yuki, who live in the arms of nature with their beloved families, teachers and school friends, are now friends of all of us. Do you know the Sarıkeçililer who live a nomadic life in our country? One of them, İsmail, a primary school student, now has a goat. İsmail and Yuki try everything to never be separated from each other. As we read this story set in the thyme-scented mountains of the Taurus Mountains, we understand how deep and loving the friendships we form with animals are.
