BIOGRAPHY

Director and screenwriter Yüksel Aksu was born in 1966 in Muğla. He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema-Television. He completed his master's degree at the same university. During his student years, he shot many short films and documentaries.

Yüksel Aksu, who started his cinema studies as the assistant of master director Yusuf Kurçenli, has been directed by many popular television series since 1999.

In 2006, he produced his first feature film "Ice Cream, Ice Scream", wrote and directed the script. He received the "Jury Special Award" at the Istanbul Film Festival with this film, which he did not use professional actors. Gerard Depardieu, one of the most important actors of French cinema, praised the film for his construction and warm, sincere attitude. 'Ice Cream, I Scream', in the same year as Türkiye's Oscar candidate; He won many awards at the United States of the United States and at home.

Yüksel Aksu, the second feature film 'Ecotapia' in 2011, after the film, in 2016, again screenwriter and directed by Cem Yilmaz starring the 'Iftarlık Gazoz' film. In 2024, he made a feature film 'Cem Karaca's Tears'. At a time when the differences between festival films and box office films for the market were opened, Yüksel Aksu films attracted attention with the interest of the audience and the interest of the festival circles. While he was watching millions of films, he also received praise in the festival circles.
